Why you heard from us
If you want to be removed, that's the fastest thing on this page. Email joshua@arcanumstudios.com with “Remove me” in the subject, or just reply to the message you received and say so. It's permanent, it applies across every client we work for, and you don't have to give a reason or explain yourself.
Everything below explains how we got your details and why we thought the message was worth sending.
1Who we are
Arcanum Studios LLC is a business development firm registered in the State of Wyoming, United States. We help companies start conversations with other companies that are likely to need what they sell.
You may have heard from us in one of two ways:
- On our own behalf — we were introducing our own services to you.
- On behalf of a client — a company engaged us to conduct business development, and the message identified that company. In that case, that company decided who to contact and what to offer; we carried it out on their instructions and their privacy notice also applies. If you'd like to know which client, ask us and we'll tell you.
2What information we hold about you
Business contact and role information only:
- Your name and job title
- Your employer, its website address, industry, and approximate size
- Your business email address and, in some cases, a business telephone number
- A link to your professional social profile, such as LinkedIn
- Publicly reported business events relevant to why we contacted you — for example a role change, hiring activity, a funding announcement, or a technology change at your company
- A record of what we sent you and how you responded
What we deliberately do not collect
We do not collect or hold your home address, personal email address, personal mobile number, date of birth, government identification numbers, financial information, or precise location. We do not collect sensitive information such as health, race or ethnicity, religion, political opinions, union membership, sexual orientation, or immigration status — even where it may be publicly visible. If you believe we hold anything in this list, tell us and we will delete it.
3Where we obtained it
From publicly available and commercially licensed business sources, which typically include:
- Public professional networking profiles
- Your company's website, including its team, contact, and careers pages
- Public company filings, press releases, and news coverage
- Public job postings
- Licensed third-party business data and contact verification providers
We did not obtain your details from a data breach, and we did not buy a scraped consumer list. If you want to know the specific source for your record, ask and we will tell you what we have.
4Why we contacted you
Because something about your company's public activity suggested a specific, current reason the message might be relevant to your role — not because your name appeared on a list.
Before contacting anyone, we prepare a written brief on the account covering what the company does, what recently changed, and why the offer might matter now. If you'd like to see the brief we wrote about your company, ask and we'll send it to you. We think you're entitled to it.
We contact people in professional roles about matters relevant to those roles, on the basis of our legitimate interest in business development. We weigh that against your interests, which is why we limit ourselves to business contact information, cap how often we follow up, and stop immediately when asked.
5How we use software and AI
We use software, including artificial intelligence tools, to help identify relevant companies and to research and draft messages. We think you should know that, and we also want to be precise about the limits:
- A person on our team reviews and approves messaging before it is used.
- A person on our team reads and answers your replies. You are not talking to a bot.
- No automated system makes a decision about you that has a legal or similarly significant effect.
- We do not use your information to train publicly available AI models.
6Who your information is shared with
- Our client, where we contacted you on their behalf. They receive your business contact details, our research, and the conversation record.
- Our service providers — email, calendar, hosting, data verification, AI, and customer relationship tools. They act on our instructions and are bound by contract.
- Nobody else. We do not sell your information, and we do not add you to any list that is rented or resold.
The current list of providers we use is available on request.
7How long we keep it
Three years from our last contact with you, after which the record is deleted. If you ask to be removed, we delete the record immediately and keep only the minimum needed to make sure we never contact you again — typically your email address and a note that you opted out. We keep that suppression entry indefinitely, because deleting it would mean we could contact you again by accident.
8Your choices
Stop all contact — permanent, no questions
Reply to the message you received and say “remove me,” or email joshua@arcanumstudios.com.
We action removals within 5 business days. It applies to outreach on our own behalf and on behalf of every client, current and future. We will not ask you to reconsider and we will not send a “before you go” message.
You can also ask us to:
- Show you everything we hold about you, including where we got it and who we shared it with
- Send you the research brief we prepared about your company
- Correct anything inaccurate
- Delete your record entirely
- Tell you which client we were working for
Email joshua@arcanumstudios.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We acknowledge within 10 days and respond within 45. There is no charge, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
You may have additional rights depending on where you live. We extend the rights above to everyone who asks, regardless of location.
9Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we contacted you or how we handled your request, tell us directly at joshua@arcanumstudios.com and a person will respond. We would genuinely rather hear it from you than not.
If we don't resolve it to your satisfaction, you may be able to complain to your state attorney general or another supervisory authority with jurisdiction over your location.
